Have i got a real Sport?

Is there anyway of telling if my car is a genuine Sport? Just put it on pistonheads and the first caller queried whether it was actually a Sport as he thought they came only in manual gearboxes?

Any help would be great, doesnt say Sport on the V5 thats for sure.

Hi m8 it's Paul the previous owner from Herts, don't worry they did do the Sport or Special which is the proper name with an autobox as an option, on your V5 it should list it as "Granada injection" the other thing is the grille is wrong, it's got a 2 louvre Ghia grille when it should have the 3 louvre base grille, it was like that when i had it, my Red one at the top of the page has the correct grille, hope this is of help to you

Thanks for the reply, i was sure it was a sport but thanks for reassuring me.

I had recently changed the grill on the advice from another Granada forum, the one that was on it had a chrome surround, picture attached shows it now, is this right now then?

did the sport / special come with a white TRX wheel????

Yes they did, White TRX's, no chrome, Recaro seats in front, spot lights and front and rear spoilers as standard, that's my Red one in the forum banner

very nice to but the pic in this topic looks like the 14 inch ghia wheels to me although i could be wrong wouldnt be the 1st time lol

The TRX wheels are the same style but a bit bigger, normal Ghia wheels are 14's but the TRX ones are metric size 390mm which are approx 15" in imperial size

i know all about it trying to source tyres in trx size was quoted £250 plus per tyre got 3 from my mate part worn £40 result although the tyres on the dark sport dont look like the normal pattern trx tread??????

That's cos they're Avons, Avon do a tyre the same size as Michelin TRX but with a different tread pattern, i got Michelins on the rear and Avons on the front of mine but eventually want to change them all to Michelins as they were original fit from factory
