Hello folks my name is John and i own a pre-facelift 1980 2.8i GLS Estate in corsican blue just like Chris` saloon on here. I beleive this to be a rare model and was wondering if anyone on here could share any info. on this model? I also have an un-welded and mint mk2 shell which i saved from the banger track about 5 years ago waiting its turn to be repainted and put back together with a lively pinto, 4 speed box and a 2.8i sport interior.

Hello and welcome to you Smile Yes your car is indeed rare, Injection on an 1980 car is very rare and I have never seen one in the flesh. Is it badged 2.8i, or just GLS?

Yes it is badged 2.8i GLS and it also has air-con and a sunroof. It was fitted with later model bumpers and grill before i bought it and has twin stainless exhausts, one on each side and sounds sweet. I will be out in the lock-up this Saturday and will get some pics of it.
