Two litre complete carburettor assembly wanted

Hi Guys
I am new to this forum but it looks great. I have a few mk2 s that all need substantial work, two 2.8 ghias and a two litre LX . I have just retrieved the two litre LX from a field along with one Ghia which is running. I need loads of panels but my immediate concern is the fact that the starter motor , alternator, ignition coil, bumpers and complete carburettor assembly including the manifold ,all hoses, vacum and water and air filter housing were stolen from the car . It has left me being unable to move the vehicle now. It needs a lot of work but is unusual for a two litre LX in that it has two tone paint work (Brown/champagne ) ,front/ rear electric windows and an electric sunroof and had headlamp washers, Ford Alloys and the rear spoiler . I have a starter motor ordered and the wrong alternator arrived today . I am in the short term looking for a complete carburettor assembly with the manifold /vacum and water hoses , carb linkage , carburettor etc , air cleaner etc for the two litre model and good condition and will pay a good price for it. I am In Cork in Southern Ireland and its very difficult to get anything here now. If you have or know anyone who has broken or is breaking a two litre get in touch.

Welcome to the forum,
The 2 litre engine is the Pinto engine which was also fitted in Cortinas, Capris, early Sierras and even Transits so you are not limited to Granadas, would like to see some pics of your LX as it sounds quite interesting

I realise that the carb setup is shared by many other Fords. Unfortunately there were a few hoses , vacum pipes , air cleaner assembly that are probably peculiar to the two litre Granada as well as the jetting. In fact there are many on ebay but no complete set ups as the throttle linkage is gone as well as the manifold and the air cleaner assembly and all hoses. I want to keep it original as you can imagine. I have phone pictures and will try to upload them in the next day or so. I will have to see how to put them on this site. The car is in need of a restoration as it was in a collision eight years ago but i kept it as it was unusual and the chassis was undamaged.

Hi , I was over at the car today and got a few pictures. I am unsure if they will upload properly but will give it a go. Originally the car had tinted glass but it was badly vandalised over ten years ago and all the glass was smashed which was awful because it had no marks or scratchs on it.The front and rear windscreens had black trims which I still have (some of them anyway). I have one headlamp wash overider as the front bumper was taken. The doors were all replaced from another LX but it only had clear glass. It also had a Ford electric aerial which never worked. It has the four speaker balance control and the rev counter which all LX s had. I also noticed that while most LX s seem to have electric mirrors my one did not although it is wired for them.I hope the pictures come out okay.

What pictures? can't see any

Hi Admin , I tried to attach them to the message and nothing happened. They are on my computer alright. I used the host an image button and it appeared to work but nothing appeared.How do i attach them from my pictures file?

Best way would be to open an account with an external hosting site (free) such as Photobucket or imagecave, click on the IMG bar on the photo and copy and paste it onto your post
