I know what to look for on the pinto, but don't know about the V6, there should be a number stamped on the heads.

Any motor thats pre- 1988-89 will not be unleaded as standard. All Mk2 colognes are not unleaded, also pintos.

I was told my 2.8i special was unleaded so have been using that with no probs, won't be an issue when i get a 24v in it, i'm on the lookout for an mt75 box with a v6 bellhousing, there's one on ebay at the mo but the guy wants £300 for it and i don't have that sort of cash at the mo Crying or Very sad

If you look at the exhaust flange, there will be a letter stamped on it, very rarely it will have a D or E which means it is unleaded, but Ive never heard of anyone having one!!! They engine I have has been rebuilt by Fords in 1999 and still isnt...

Alan a cossie will be a doddle to fit in your van, engine mounts are the same, your c3 or a4ld will bolt straight up, the 24V uses a coil pack so if it fouls on the bulkhead just move it somewhere else (can't do that with a dizzy), as for exhaust buy some flexy pipe which can be bent to shape which is what i used, 24V cossies can be bought for peanuts, buy a scrap mk3 pull the engine out and weigh in the rest and get at least half your money back Very Happy
