my 2.0 L prefacelift
just in the middle of fitting an unleaded, injection head with an fr30 (hi torque) cam got this 44k, 2 owner car back in july, had been stood in a garage for 8 years, after a ignition service and a lube of the carb, it spluttered into life, has since had alternator, water pump and now a recon'd head. im a big fan of the comfy bus, is perfect stablemate to my 2.0 capri. im planning a sympathetic rolling restoration over the next 12months, keeping it looking totally standard am aware of its rarity and extensive, complete history

finished it off today, got some bearing pullers and with a little help from a mate had the pulley and the belt off, then an hour and a bit in the rain later an i had a working car again, with alot more grunt, no smoke on start up and it doesnt sound like an angry typist on crack anymore had one little moment, cudnt figure out why it wouldnt fire :duh: cudnt see for the rain in my eyes and the s*** floodlight and torch :cursing: until i noticed the new king ht lead was still in the hall  banged that on, and it fired without a problem bed the cam into the new followers on fast idle for 20 minutes and its sound as a pound i mean proper sound, it goes alot-lot better, was worth all the headaches :thumbup1:
and where it likes to be, £20 going in  see if its any better than it was, <_<

That's lovely, we had a 2L granny engine in the SWB minibus till recently. Sadly it suffered valve death and had to go. Going back to a transit (LC) 2L and single carb is a killer! Will get the twin choke back on, just had to rush the engine swap.
What shade is that?

corsican blue all put back together properly now, valve clearnaces checked, exhausts had closed slightly, and one inlet had gone baggy (lock nut not tight ) everything else checked for leaks etc and is 100% went to a local-ish car meet tonight in manchester 80 mile round trip, 3 up in total comfort
